Perspective: Faith Opportunities
Impossible situations are standard issue for any true believer. They come with the territory. The bible says, “We walk by faith, not by sight,” and “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” But it also explains that what we can see and figure out is not really faith at all.
So then, in order for faith to be exercised, you have to be in a situation where you don’t see how it will work out… an impossible situation. We should not be surprised when we see a brick wall in our path, or the bottom falls out just when it looked like everything was going well. These types of predicaments are faith opportunities.
All God wants to see is our faith in Him. Be confident, brag on Him, praise Him even though it feels like you’re going under! He’s never once failed! Not once.
Since we know faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, we can build our faith during these times by rehearsing God’s word and all of his promises concerning us. Rehearse them in prayer, in song, in conversation… and watch your faith grow, and God’s promises come to pass in your life! By the same token, if we spend that time rehearsing our problems and woes, we can expect more of the same to manifest in our lives.
Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”
I’m convinced that the ultimate goal is to come to a place where it doesn’t take an impossible situation to trust God, but that we defer to God’s direction in EVERY situation. That is walking by faith.
